1) Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the “Stay Safe Online” campaign and the G-20 Digital Innovation Alliance (DIA) as part of India’s G20 presidency.


2) The Indian Army inaugurated its first 3-D Printed House Dwelling Unit (with Ground plus One configuration) for soldiers at Ahmedabad Cantt in Gujarat.


3) Digital payments services platform Worldline ePayments India has received in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India to act as a payment aggregator (PA).


4) Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, a Pritzker Prize winner who designed the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, passed away at the age of 91.


5) United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced the appointment of Abdullah Abdul Samad Dashti of Kuwait as United Nations Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative.


6) Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy RK Singh announced that a world-class Kayaking-Canoeing Academy is to be set up at Tehri in Uttarakhand.


7) The Tamil Nadu government operationalised the “Nilgiri Tahr project” touted as the first-of-its-kind in the country which aims at restoring the original habitat of the state animal and stabilising its population.


8) HDFC Bank signed a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kerala Startup Mission to engage more deeply with the start-up community and to promote entrepreneurship in the state.


9) Vigilance Commissioner Praveen Kumar Srivastava has been appointed as the acting Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC).

Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex Indian governmental body created in 1964 to address governmental corruption.


10) Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the first phase of a new Zuari bridge on the Zuari river in Goa, that is expected to improve the connectivity between North Goa and South Goa districts.

The bridge is also the second largest cable stayed bridge in India, first being Mumbai’s Bandra Worli sealink.


11) Noted Cuban social worker and human rights advocate Aleida Guevara has been selected for the first award instituted by the K.R. Gouri Amma Foundation.


12) Elon Musk-owned SpaceX launched 54 Starlink satellites to orbit atop its Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

The company will now deploy satellites to new orbits enabling the company to add more customers to internet service.


15) The Andhra Pradesh government has introduced a lesson on the contribution of Fatima Sheikh in the textbooks of the eighth class.

Fatima Sheikh was India’s first woman Muslim teacher and one of India’s greatest social reformers and educators.
