State PSC Focused Daily Current Affairs with Static GK 27 January 2023


1) The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) and Lunglei fire station, Mizoram, have been selected in the institutional category for Subhas Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar-2023 for their excellent work in disaster management.


2) The Global Firepower Report 2023 has ranked India as the 4th most powerful army in the world.

India’s military had a Power Index score of 0.1025 in the 2023 Military Strength Ranking done by Global Firepower.

A country with a lower score is considered to be more powerful.


3) Aska police station in Ganjam district of Odisha has been awarded as number one police station by Home Minister Amit Shah.

Aska police station got this title in the annual ranking of police stations for the year 2022.


4) The American India Foundation (AIF) inaugurated India’s first STEM Innovation and Learning Center (SILC) under the scheme of Vanavil Mandram in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.


5) The Himachal Pradesh government announced to make the state as the first Green Energy State by the end of 2025 by harnessing hydro, hydrogen and solar energy and switching to green products.


6) Thailand’s Kunlavut Witidsarn and Korea’s Un Seong became the men’s and women’s singles champions respectively in the India Open badminton tournament.


7) Ladakh Lieutenant Governor R K Mathur launched the Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) in the Union Territory, with both hill councils of Kargil and Leh welcoming the initiative.


8) A newly published thought-provoking book “India’s Knowledge Supremacy: The New Dawn” Written by international Indian expat, Dr Ashwin Fernandes has been launched globally by Honourable Minister of Education of India Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.


9) Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh launched a water conservation scheme with an outlay of Rs 467.32 crore to benefit farmers who faced drought last year in the state.


10) President Droupadi Murmu conferred Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

The awards have been conferred upon 11 children for their exceptional achievement.


11) Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane inaugurated a day-long National SC-ST Hub Conclave to provide professional support to SC-ST entrepreneurs in Mumbai, Maharashtra.


12) Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann launched Schools of Eminence project for quality education.

Under the scheme, 117 such schools will come up in 23 districts across the state.


13) For the year 2023, the President has approved conferment of 106 Padma Awards including 3 duo cases (in a duo case, the Award is counted as one) in which 6 Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan and 91 Padma Shri Awards.

19 of the awardees are women and 2 persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI and 7 Posthumous awardees.
